Cry me a river

I am feeling nostalgic and remembering when Worldcom was trading at 6 cents per share and had a market cap of $30 million. Many of my co-workers were getting margin calls on mortgage loans (your house was your collateral) of 6 figures at 9 am to be payable in cash by 2 pm the same [...]

Its a bird! Its a plane!…..Its a flying pig!0!0!0

So I used to think that the National Inquirer was, well, not credible.  I mean they always have an alien next to a president, or some other wild new story on the cover.  Boy was I wrong.  It turns out that they are credible, and timely, and ACCURATE!!!! I mean what is this world coming [...]

Trying on the life of leisure

Fuel for Lunch

Okay – so gas is $4 plus around here, and the world’s starving are competing with the neighbors’ hummer for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What’s a girl to do but drown their sorrows in chocolate! Now even my chocolate fix is at risk

FTD…..the Valentine’s UnCupid

I just found out that FTD failed to deliver my Valentines flower orders, they cancelled them instead. Of course they did not notify me until several days after Valentines passed. I can resubmit the order if I want to send belated flowers. GRRRRRRR!

Living in germ central

In the last few weeks, our house has turned into ground zero for germs. There is just no break from the sneezes, colds and other winter yuckies. I cant wait for January to be over….

all play followed by all work….

The weekend with TC was great. We found a deserted beach….its amazing to still find a place on the coast where only your prints are in the sand, and all the treasures of the ocean can be found after the high tide receeds. (I found a wonderful broken mother-of-pearl shellpiece). Dinner that night was pizza [...]

the good, the bad and the ugly in my kitchen

Well the desserts for Thanksgiving were edible. Ahhhh! I made Emeril’s Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie and also my own version of French-Style Pear Tartlets. Both were tried by everyone, and some people even had seconds. I love Emeril! His recipes come out perfectly well the first time. My success inspired me to create a birthday [...]
