The other day Ronan tried to cut bread with a chef knife. Today he was able to turn on the stove and dishrag caught on fire. (Okay both grandmas should take deep breath, and try not to have anxiety attacks.) I saw the whole thing, Ryan was called and dishrag was promptly put under running [...]

Its not easy being green!
Our latest PG&E bill was over $550!!!!! So we are trying to conserve and so far its costing us BIG BUCKS. – 1 new energy efficient heating/cooling system with new duct system. The original builder was shall we say, mathematically challenged, the original ducts and placement do not support the system we have or need. [...]

of frankenstein cake and dog tv
today my mother and i pieced together a cake from various odds and ends. its amazing but a box of cake mix, 3 pounds of strawberries, vanilla pudding mix and chocolate pudding mix can turn into a beautiful and tasty cake. and dog tv (backyardigans in roni-speak) made it all possible.

Waiting to be struck by lightening!!!!!
I know its coming because everything else that could go wrong did. – Ryan, Ronan, Chase, Jolina, my mom and myself got the latest bug going around. – Ryan spilled coffee over my parents’ new persian rug. – I broke my toe and I can’t take pain meds – cause I am breastfeeding. – The [...]

Going shopping – in my garage
I must confess that I am addicted to babycenter.com financial bulletin boards. Most interesting suggestion so far: go shopping for things you need in your pantry, garage or storage. So this weekend I rolled up my sleeves and tackled the garage… or our very own family-sized Costco. Now when Ryan and I closed up the [...]

our first bottle of 100 dollar chamapagne
so yesterday was a day of firsts – Ryan’s hard work and efforts made it into the WSJ and NYT (in addition to many other places.) – it took two bookstore/starbuck trips to buy up all the WSJ and NYT that we wanted. (Ryan told us its ironic to buy newsprint so we can read [...]

“I am going to tape your iPhone to your butt!!!!”
Its my husbands most common saying: usually well earned after we play another round of find Inna’s phone. Last night’s round involved 8 locator phone calls, two trips to the car, and a scavenger hunt within the couch. Last week it took him 45 min to dig it out of the said couch. My husband [...]

Boren ….. Politseymako…what’s in a name
Well I have started on a ritual many newly married women go through – changing my last name. Who knew that it would be so painful and difficult. So far I have stood in line at the registrar office, Social Security and DMV. (And let me tell you standing in any line when you are [...]

Living in germ central
In the last few weeks, our house has turned into ground zero for germs. There is just no break from the sneezes, colds and other winter yuckies. I cant wait for January to be over….
